PAY: $DOE

POSITION PURPOSE

Performs complex technical activities required for the design, security, installation, integration, as well as ongoing support of the Company?s unified communications, voice, video and data network including all 802.11 wireless technologies.

? Maintain a comprehensive level of specialized knowledge in one or more related technical discipline specifically 802.11 wireless technologies, Cisco VPN technologies, Cisco switching and routing, F5 systems, Citrix systems, Cisco Collaborative systems, Cisco Unified Services and others as required.

? Proactively monitor the network systems to maximize uptime of the company?s network and respond in a timely manner to problems affecting internal, as well as external clients.

? Develop a generalist level of understanding of all network systems to assist in a support role, if required, as well as a subject matter expertise in specific systems as identified.

? Participates in an on-call rotation, with late night and weekend work as required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

? Typically a bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in a related discipline.

? Typically between five to seven years of previous network experience.

? Working knowledge of networking topologies, routing and switching protocols, 802.11 wireless technologies, firewalls, VPNs, Cisco unified communications and collaborative systems, network management and monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds or HP OpenView

? Knowledge of best practices relating to network design and implementation including network protocols, subnetting/address schemas, DNS, DHCP, and proxy services.

? Ability to work as a self-directed member of the team with minimal supervision seeking out guidance as needed.
